  Yuu Hinatsuki   is a gentle-natured Lupin hailing from Hingashi, known throughout Kugane as the proprietor and teamaster of the esteemed Kinmokusei Teahouse. Soft-spoken in demeanor, if not voice, he carries himself with a calm attentiveness and a quiet wisdom that belies his years. His face betrays little emotion, yet those who know him well come to understand that his stillness isn't coldness, but consideration, his actions speaking volumes in place of words.Born to Kirimaru Tsukioka as the younger of firstborn twins, he grew up under the constant bullying and teasing of his older sister, being generally shy, reserved, and born mute. He spent much of his early life clinging to his mother, and even as the the bullying lessened as he grew into his his capability, his deep attachment to Kirimaru never truly faded.Yuu's muteness also has never been fully explained, no chirurgeon able to identify a cause beyond a presumed genetic condition. As such, he learned Othardian sign language as his primary means of communication, along with literacy in written Hingan. Eorzean sign came later on, but he remains illiterate in written Eorzean, a limitation that--until recently--had seldom troubled the wolf, having lived his entire life on Hingashi's shores.

From a young age, Yuu demonstrated a natural affinity towards water-aspected aether, and through patient training and careful discipline, he learned how to manipulate the water within living cells, stimulating recovery and mending wounds with remarkable precision. Though skilled with healing, he's far from defenseless. Despite being more limited in degree, he was trained by his mother to harness ice-aspected aether to defend himself when necessary--though combat was never a frequent part of his life.It was tea, ultimately, that became Yuu's calling.Inheriting Kirimaru's deep reverence for the art, Yuu devoted himself wholly to mastering the craft of brewing, pursuing purity of flavor, balance, and harmony with near-monastic dedication. Until the age of 20, he apprenticed under both his mother and another respected tea master with a near obsessive focus. It was this dedication that earned him what he deems to be the greatest honor imaginable--the passing of the Kinmokusei Teahouse into his ownership and care, a legacy he treasures with the utmost love and respect.Over the following nine years, his reputation flourished.   This gentle Lupin   is overall a kind individual, his silence and generally docile disposition often giving many the impression that he's shy--and in some cases he is. More often than not, however, Yuu is simply content to keep to himself and observe those around him. He derives a level of pleasure from people-watching, especially now that he has begun to venture outside the boundaries of his home nation and experience other cultures he's only ever heard tales about.Behind even that is a man who is quite confident, exhibiting a moderate, but firm command of himself, and a serenity that's near unsettling. When the teahouse closed down for seemingly mysterious reasons--a mere note left behind vaguely hinting at Yuu's whereabouts--fate saw the two brought together again on Eorzean soil, and with goals strangely aligned, the pair have found themselves traveling and spending more time in each other's presence. Perhaps there is something budding between them.
